Abbey Clancy Opens Up About ‘Chaotic’ Family Life and Peter Crouch’s Parenting Style.

Abbey Clancy has provided a candid glimpse into her family life, revealing the challenges and joys of parenting alongside her husband, former footballer Peter Crouch. The 39-year-old model, who shares four children with Peter—Sophia Ruby, 13, Liberty Rose, 9, Johnny, 6, and Jack, 5—admitted that their household is far from calm but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Peter Crouch’s ‘Annoying’ Parenting Habit

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Abbey humorously shared that she and Peter take on opposite roles when it comes to parenting, describing herself as the “bad cop” while Peter enjoys playing the “good cop.”

“Pete’s good cop and I’m bad cop,” Abbey explained. “I’m the one going, ‘Do your homework, eat your veg,’ and Pete’s like, ‘Let’s play, kids!’ which can be annoying but… it works.”

Despite Peter’s playful approach sometimes frustrating her, Abbey acknowledged that their four children are well-behaved and adaptable.

“Our kids are very good, though. They’ve all got distinct personalities but they’re all easy-going,” she added. “That’s not to say family life isn’t chaotic – it’s chaotic! There’s absolutely nothing chilled about it, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Keeping the Spark Alive After 14 Years of Marriage

Abbey and Peter, who have been married since 2011, also co-host The Therapy Crouch podcast, where they openly discuss their relationship and family life. When asked about their dynamic after 14 years together, Abbey revealed that despite spending most of their time in each other’s company, she never feels the need for “space.”

“I don't need 'space' from Peter – unless I'm ill, like I am at the minute,” she admitted. “Because he's a c**p nurse and I want him to go away! He's useless then.”

The couple’s chemistry and humor have made them fan favorites, particularly because of Abbey’s willingness to be open about even the most personal aspects of their relationship.

During their podcast, Abbey often shares intimate details, including their bedroom life, which has at times left her feeling slightly nervous about oversharing.

“But you know what? It's important for us to be authentic… to be real,” she said, emphasizing the importance of honesty in their marriage and public personas.

Banning iPads and Phones for a More Connected Family

The couple also discussed the parenting rules they’ve put in place to ensure quality family time, including banning iPads and mobile phones, particularly around the holiday season.

Speaking on The Therapy Crouch, Peter explained how they made a joint decision to cut down on screen time in their household.

“We said to them, ‘iPads and phones are gone,’ and I feel we've stuck to that,” Peter revealed. “We made a conscious effort amongst ourselves to cut them out and they've properly cut them out.”

Abbey and Peter believe that limiting screen time has contributed to a more positive and engaged family dynamic. They also encourage their children to focus on their homework and spend quality time together before enjoying their own time as a couple once the kids are in bed.

Abbey’s Awkward Valentine’s Day Surprise

While the couple shares a strong bond, Abbey recently recalled an embarrassing Valentine’s Day moment from the past, proving that even the most glamorous relationships can have their awkward moments.

On a recent episode of their podcast, Abbey reminisced about a romantic evening gone wrong when she assumed Peter had planned for them to stay at a hotel.

“One Valentine’s Day quite a few years ago, I was head to toe in Agent Provocateur,” Abbey revealed, explaining that she had dressed in skimpy lingerie beneath a stylish trench coat Peter had previously gifted her.

Expecting a private night together, she was caught off guard when Peter had actually arranged for a chef to prepare a luxurious dinner for them at home.

“So me and him are sitting at the table, and I've got the full coat on. Pete’s like, ‘Take your coat off,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh no, it’s a bit chilly in here,’” she recalled.

Much to her horror, the chef proceeded to sit with them for every course, leaving her unable to remove her coat and reveal the daring outfit underneath.

By the end of the meal, she had given up entirely, putting on a fleece dressing gown instead.

Peter later laughed about the incident, explaining that this is the reason he now buys Abbey a Burberry coat every Valentine’s Day.

“You should’ve told me,” he joked.

To which Abbey replied, “I know. By the end of the meal, I was stuffed, and I put the fleece dressing gown back on.”

A Balanced Life Amidst the Chaos

Despite the inevitable chaos of parenting four young children and maintaining a busy career, Abbey and Peter have found a way to make their family life work. With humor, love, and a commitment to keeping things real, they continue to be one of the most adored celebrity couples in the UK.

Whether it’s navigating the ups and downs of parenting, keeping their marriage strong, or dealing with unexpected Valentine’s Day mishaps, Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch prove that even in the limelight, family life is never dull.
