Ashley Cain and his former partner Safiyya Vorajee made headlines on Friday evening as they reunited at the National Influencer Awards in Liverpool. The emotional reunion comes four years after the heartbreaking death of their daughter, Azaylia, who tragically passed away from leukemia at just eight months old in April 2021.
The pair, who were once partners, coordinated in striking green ensembles at the high-profile event. Cain, 34, known for his time on Ex On The Beach, looked dapper in a green blazer paired with a white shirt, blue tie, and grey trousers. He completed his look with a matching waistcoat and a luxury Louis Vuitton bucket bag. Making an unforgettable entrance, the influencer arrived in a bold, bright purple sports car.
Safiyya, meanwhile, stunned in a sleeveless, figure-hugging green dress featuring a structured, boxy design. Her elegant appearance added to the poignant tone of the evening, as the two stood united despite their past.
From Tragedy to Friendship
Ashley and Safiyya's relationship ended following the loss of their daughter, Azaylia—a journey that deeply affected both. Since then, Ashley has welcomed two more children: son Aliyas, born in January last year, and five-month-old Atlas. The identity of the mother of his third child remains unconfirmed, and whether it’s the same woman who had his second son is unclear.

While the couple is no longer romantically involved, their recent appearance together suggests a supportive friendship has remained. Speaking in previous interviews, Safiyya confirmed that although she hasn’t met Ashley’s new children, there is no animosity between them.
“That’s one of those things – our friendship has just blossomed really healthily and it’s no secret,” Safiyya shared. “If that comes in the future, I’m a very welcoming person, so if we all end up somewhere, I’m always going to be kind.”
Safiyya on Healing, Dating, and the Future
Since Azaylia’s death, Safiyya has focused on personal healing. She has openly discussed undergoing regular therapy, initially attending sessions three times a week. “It was so dark, I felt like I didn’t want to be here anymore,” she admitted. “Now I’m on one session a week, and I feel proud that I’ve been able to tailor that off.”
Opening up about her future, Safiyya revealed she is now considering dating again. “I just can’t seem to find anybody – I really can’t,” she said. “I’ve only just recently been open to dating, because I’ve really worked so hard on myself.”
Rejecting dating apps, she said she prefers meeting people face-to-face. “For me it’s about in-person connection, and the energy – I have to feel it,” she explained. “I’m not in a rush either. I feel like it will come when it’s going to come.”
Safiyya also spoke candidly about the possibility of becoming a mother again. Though she once shut down the idea, she now feels more open to it. “If I’m with the right person, I don’t shut it down now,” she shared. “I’m open to rebuilding a family and a home.”
She even explored the idea of freezing her eggs but was advised by a medical professional that it may not be necessary. “I need to get more information, but he told me that if he took the eggs out, there might not be enough fertile eggs left for me to conceive naturally.”
Celebrity Support and Strength
Safiyya credits much of her healing journey to the support she's received from others who’ve experienced similar losses, including reality star Lauren Goodger, who tragically lost her daughter Lorena at just two days old.
Despite the passage of time, the pain of losing a child still lingers. However, both Ashley and Safiyya continue to honor their daughter’s memory through public appearances and personal growth.
Ashley recently shared his joy on social media after the birth of his third child, posting several images of the newborn and writing that his heart was “bursting with love and excitement.”
Their reunion at the National Influencer Awards served not only as a fashion moment but also as a touching reminder of resilience, co-parenting, and enduring bonds born from tragedy.
