Taylor Swift Sells Private Jet Amid Environmental Concerns and Legal Disputes.

Swift sold her Dassault Falcon 900LX on January 30 to car insurance company Car Shield based in Missouri

In a recent development, Taylor Swift has sold one of her private jets, a gas-guzzling Dassault Falcon 900LX, just days before she was scheduled to embark on a journey from Los Angeles to Tokyo. The Grammy-winning artist made the decision to part ways with the aircraft amidst growing environmental concerns and legal disputes.

According to documents obtained by DailyMail.com, Swift sold the $40 million jet to car insurance company Car Shield, based in Missouri. The aircraft, now estimated to be worth around $7 million second-hand, was transferred to Car Shield's CEO Nicholas Hamilton and Triangle Real Estate LLC, with the new registered ownership address being CarShield’s HQ in St. Peter’s, Missouri.

She purchased the jet for $40million in 2011, with FAA records showing that the 900LX was transferred to BoneDoc Aviation, LLC from SATA LLC in Nashville

Swift's decision to sell her private jet comes amid mounting pressure for celebrities to reduce their carbon emissions. The pop star has faced criticism for her frequent jet-setting, particularly as she travels to spend time with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, while also touring internationally.

The sale of the Dassault Falcon 900LX marks a significant shift in Swift's transportation choices, although she still retains ownership of her larger Dassault Falcon 7X, which costs $54 million if bought new. The Falcon 7X is listed under Island Jet Inc., tied to Taylor Swift Productions in Nashville, Tennessee.

Swift's decision to sell her private jet coincides with legal action taken against a college student, Jack Sweeney, who tracks the flight paths of planes and helicopters owned by celebrities. Swift's attorneys sent a cease and desist letter to Sweeney, demanding that he stop logging her flights and locations. The letter accuses Sweeney of stalking and harassing behavior, causing direct and irreparable harm to Swift and her family.

Sweeney, a junior at the University of Central Florida, maintains that his accounts use publicly available data and serve the purpose of transparency and public information. However, Swift's legal team argues that such tracking poses a threat to her personal safety and privacy.

Swift's environmental footprint has also come under scrutiny, particularly in light of her extensive air travel for her Eras tour and personal engagements. Despite efforts to offset carbon emissions through the purchase of carbon credits, Swift's flights have resulted in significant environmental impact, prompting criticism from environmental activists and observers.

As Swift navigates legal challenges and environmental concerns, her decision to sell one of her private jets underscores a broader reckoning within the entertainment industry regarding sustainability and accountability. The sale signals a potential shift towards more eco-conscious practices, although the broader implications for Swift's travel habits remain to be seen.
