Chrissy Teigen Prepares to Evacuate $17.5M Beverly Hills Mansion Amid LA Wildfires.

Chrissy Teigen has shared an emotional updat with her 41.9 million Instagram followers as devastating wildfires continue to ravage Southern California. The 39-year-old model and cookbook author is among the over 100,000 residents forced to evacuate their homes in the Greater Los Angeles area due to the uncontrolled infernos.

In a heartfelt Instagram Story post, Teigen described the wildfires as a "hellscape," revealing she was packing her belongings in preparation to leave her $17.5 million Beverly Hills mansion, which she shares with her husband, John Legend, and their four children: Luna Simone, Miles Theodore, Esti Maxine, and Wren Alexander.

“This is surreal,” Teigen wrote alongside a mirror selfie taken in her closet, showing her visibly shaken as she prepared to evacuate. “I’m very scared now. Packing.”

The family’s mansion, purchased in 2020 and extensively renovated, was featured in Architectural Digest in August 2023. Teigen and Legend had described their home as a haven for their children, designed with an open, airy layout connected to the outdoors.

Teigen Shares Gratitude Amid Fear

Despite her fear, Teigen expressed gratitude for her family’s safety and extended her sympathies to others affected by the wildfires. “We are okay as of right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t know who are not okay,” she wrote.

The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model also thanked firefighters and first responders, calling them “true heroes.” She urged her followers to share information on how to support local communities and emphasized the importance of following evacuation orders.

“Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained,” Teigen wrote. “Sending so much love and strength to all of you. We’re in this together, LA.”

Widespread Devastation in Hollywood

Teigen is one of many celebrities impacted by the wildfires, which have claimed at least five lives and destroyed numerous properties. Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, Miles Teller, and John Goodman are among those who have suffered significant losses.

Hilton, 43, confirmed the destruction of her Malibu beachfront property in a social media post, describing her heartbreak as she watched her home burn live on television.

“This home was where we built so many precious memories,” Hilton wrote, referencing the property where her son, Phoenix, took his first steps. Despite the loss, Hilton expressed gratitude for her family’s safety and pledged to help communities impacted by the disaster.

A Grim Outlook

As of Wednesday, firefighters continue to battle the infernos across Southern California, with Pacific Palisades and Malibu among the hardest-hit areas. Over 70,000 residents remain under evacuation orders, and nearly 30,000 structures are at risk.

Hollywood stars, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Hamill, and Mandy Moore, have also evacuated their homes. Curtis shared her concerns on Instagram, stating that her family is safe but fears for her property. Meanwhile, Moore described the difficulty of shielding her children from the “immense sadness and worry” surrounding the crisis.

Call to Action

Teigen and other celebrities are using their platforms to rally support for affected communities. Teigen encouraged donations to organizations like the American Red Cross and local food banks.

The wildfires have cast a shadow over Los Angeles, with residents banding together in the face of unprecedented devastation. As Teigen said in her message to followers, “Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight.”
