Jennifer Lopez Shares Tender Moment with Jharrel Jerome in New Film Unstoppable Amid Ben Affleck Divorce Drama.

Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome offer a heartfelt glimpse into their upcoming film, Unstoppable, with a new first-look photo released by Amazon MGM Studios. In the touching image, Lopez, 55, is seen tenderly kissing Jerome's forehead, underscoring the emotional depth of their roles in this fact-based drama.

The film, produced by Lopez’s reportedly estranged husband Ben Affleck, follows the inspiring true story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler who triumphed despite being born without a right leg. Lopez stars as Judy, the mother of Robles, while Jerome, 26, portrays the wrestler himself.

Unstoppable chronicles Robles' journey from an underdog to becoming an NCAA Division 1 Champion. The film’s synopsis highlights Robles' remarkable achievements, including his victory over Iowa, a powerhouse wrestling school that had once rejected him. In real life, Robles won a national championship in 2011 while competing for Arizona State University. The wrestler also served as a producer on the film and took on the role of Jerome’s stunt double for the more complex wrestling sequences.

The film is adapted from Robles' memoir, Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion. It also features Bobby Cannavale as Robles' father, Rick, Michael Peña as high school wrestling coach Bobby Williams, and Don Cheadle as ASU's wrestling coach, Shawn Charles.

Robles, who finished high school with a perfect record of 96-0, was a three-time PAC-12 champion and a three-time All-American. He returned to his roots in March 2022, taking up the role of head wrestling coach at his former high school, Mesa High School.

Jerome, best known for his Emmy-winning role in When They See Us, spoke to Vanity Fair about the significance of portraying a real-life figure. He emphasized the unique challenges and sense of justice involved in bringing Robles' story to the big screen. “Before you even meet him, you can see the confidence and the fight that he has in him—just on YouTube looking at his wrestling videos, just watching his interviews,” Jerome said. “And then when you meet him, you see that light and you have no choice but to go, ‘I want to tell your story.’”

Unstoppable is set to make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, marking a significant moment for the film and its cast.
