Kanye West claims he lost $2billion in one DAY
Kanye West Claims $2 Billion Loss, Says Friends Had to Buy His Food.

Los Angeles, CA – Kanye West, the controversial rapper and fashion mogul, has made a startling claim about his financial status, suggesting he is no longer a billionaire after losing a staggering $2 billion in a single day. West, 47, attributed this dramatic financial downturn to the fallout from his anti-Semitic remarks, which led to numerous brands, including Adidas, severing ties with him.
During an appearance on The Download podcast with Justin Laboy, West discussed his recent cash flow problems. "We never was unrich," he stated, seemingly contradicting previous reports of his financial struggles. However, the conversation took a turn when Laboy recounted an incident at the now-closed Beauty & Essex restaurant. "I remember when they froze your accounts," Laboy recalled. "Man, I remember I had to put my little American Express down. That was the first time I saw a billionaire have no access to money.”
West confirmed Laboy's story, describing the experience as "crazy" and like a "Black Mirror episode." He suggested that the account freeze was a form of retaliation for his controversial statements. "They wanted to do everything to prove to me that I didn’t have the right to say anything out loud that went against the people who own the media and the people who own the music industry - the people that Drake is going up against right now, ironically," West asserted. He then went on to criticize censorship, arguing that while certain violent or drug-related lyrics are acceptable, expressing dissenting opinions is not.
The conversation later returned to the topic of wealth. West mused about the outward displays of affluence, stating, "When you got money, you go in and prove you have got money. I remember when I lost all the money, I was like ‘damn I better start dressing like a millionaire now’, which actually means more jewellery. When you are a billionaire you can dress super bummy." He then made a provocative and widely criticized comment, saying, "A n***** is never going to sell his chain, it doesn’t matter, n***** sell their children before their chain.”
These comments are particularly striking given that just last week, West appeared to boast about his billionaire status. He shared a message from Eton Venture Services, which claimed his net worth stood at $2.77 billion in 2025, based on his music portfolio and his sole ownership of the Yeezy brand. West captioned the post with "LAA LA LA LA," seemingly mocking his critics.
West's financial woes are believed to stem from the backlash he faced in late 2022 after making anti-Semitic threats on Twitter. He further compounded the controversy by releasing "White Lives Matter" t-shirts under his Yeezy brand and making additional anti-Semitic remarks, including praising Hitler during a podcast interview.
The rapper's mental health has also been a subject of public discussion. West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016 after a psychiatric emergency and has been prescribed medication to manage the condition. That same year, he shocked fans by revealing he was $53 million in debt, asking for prayers and stating, "My dreams brought me into debt and I’m close to seeing the light of day.”
West's recent claims about losing $2 billion and needing financial assistance from friends present a confusing picture of his financial situation. The discrepancy between his earlier boasts of billionaire status and his current claims raises questions about the accuracy of his statements and the volatility of his finances. Whether this is another example of West's unpredictable behavior or a genuine reflection of his financial struggles remains to be seen. His comments, however, are sure to generate further controversy and speculation about his business dealings and personal life. The fluctuating narratives surrounding his wealth, coupled with his past struggles with debt and mental health, paint a complex portrait of a public figure whose life continues to be filled with both triumphs and turmoil.
