Love Island 2023 News — Ron and Lana shrug off split rumours after they’re spotted in a ‘furious row’ ahead of Reunion
Published 12 months ago on Mar 18, 2023

It comes after The Sun revealed that the couple clashed  on the fight flight back hoe from south Africa as an onlooker said: ''Lana and Ron had a furious argument on the plane home - production crew had to step in and calm it down.

"They were so fuming they refused to film the 'meeting the family' part of the reunion show at Heathrow until producers stepped in again. They were due to stay overnight in London together but after the fight they went back to their family homes separately to cool down."

However, they seemed to have worked their way through the argument after last night they shared a snap of them cuddled up on the couch watching Season 4 of Netflix series You with a caption: "We've waited so long for this, movie and cuddles @lanajenkinss."

The two will reunite with the other contestants on the Reunion tomorrow as it's set to air live at 9pm on ITV2 with Maya Jama hosting.

What happened to Greg O'Shea and Amber Gill?

Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea took home the trophy for being the shortest-lasting Love Island winners, splitting just one month after leaving the show.

She claimed the rugby player dumped her by text after they struggled to make it work due to him living in Dublin and her in London.

Speaking about their struggles, Amber told Loose Women: “I just was like, 'Oh, I'm going to have to give up if you don't put the effort in', and then he was like, 'Okay, bye’.”

Rugby player Greg denied the split happened over text, claiming they rowed over FaceTime before he left for training and when he returned his “phone was blowing up”.

“An article was released, 'Greg breaks up with Amber over text' – I couldn't believe it,” he told The Laughs Of Your Life podcast.

He suggested Amber wanted him to “fight for it” but said he “had to be realistic and looked at it as a proper relationship and not the Love Island winners”.

Greg claimed he received death threats over the split, despite being sceptical about a ‘real’ relationship early on.

“When she posed the question to me being like, ‘You’re obviously gonna ask me to be your girlfriend, are you?’ I was like, ‘But sure how is this gonna work?'” he recalled.

Short relationships after the show

Many questioned whether Belle Hassan and Anton Danyluk's relationship was more “showmance” than romance.

It followed her dad, the actor Tamer Hassan, revealing her motivations on The Steven Sulley Study podcast last year, after wrongly believing it was to “make her boyfriend jealous”.

She allegedly told him: "I want 150,000 followers, I want a platform. I want five salons, I want to create my own make-up range and I want to float it and sell it to L’Oréal for £100million."

On AfterSun, Belle boldly admitted she was “there for a free holiday” and when producers told her “we are filming, you’ve got to do something”, she responded: “I’m just here for the tan.”

Unsurprisingly the couple lasted just five weeks in the real world. They reportedly split when the make-up artist grew tired of Anton's wild partying in Ibiza.

Host Maya Jama is set to reunite with the 2023 winter Islander this Sunday for one last chat – and it’s expected to be explosive.

While many viewers look forward to the episode, others have complained it’s ”too soon” for the Islanders to reunite.

Taking to social media, one wrote: ''The Reunion after a week is too soon, let things digest first then bring them back.”

While a second fumed: ”I always feel the reunion is TOO soon, less than a week away? What’s going to change in a week really? They get their phones back, go back to home and then what? Not a sufficient amount of time on the outside to report anything important.”

Kai and Sanam were shocked by Love Island win

The Love Island winner were shocked by their win after they told the Daily Mail that because they were so different to the other islanders they didn't expect to get the public's votes.

Kai said: "We are quite boring, really. We never got involved in all the stuff you think Love Island people have to do — the rows and the controversy. Because of that, we never expected to win. We were shocked when it seemed people liked us."

It seems like the perfect match as a school teacher and a social worker won Love Island, and Kai spoke on his passion for the work he does.

He said: "The people I ultimately want to work with — kids — watch 'Love Island'. You can have whatever view you like of shows like 'Love Island', but believe me — and I've seen it in classrooms — the kids watch it, and the people on Love Island are their role models.

"One of the common conversations I'd have with these kids — who are all on TikTok and social media — is about who they are being influenced by.

"A lot of the kids I have taught come from broken homes, and I know it was the same with Sanam. A lot of them will never see a positive relationship. If they can look at us and go 'yeah, it is achievable' then that's a positive thing.

"I guess people voted for us because we were real. We plan to stay that way."

Sanam added: "I am meeting my former manager on Thursday to chat about how I can continue to help them. And this will give me a platform that I just wouldn't have had before."

Who is expected to appear at the Love Island 2023 reunion?

Maya Jama will be back to reunite the Islanders one last time to break down all the ins and outs of their villa antics.

In the past, this has included some seriously awkward confrontations between Islanders now they've had a chance to see and hear what they might have missed in the villa.

Every Islander from the 203 series is expected to attend – which may see some reuniting with those they'd rather not see.

One of the most obvious contention points is Casa Amor, which saw numerous recoupling's and one hell of a fallout in the aftermath for, Shaq Muhamed and Tanya Manhenga in particular as she chose to recouple while Shaq remained faithful.

Anna-May on signing up for Love Island

Welsh contestant Anna-May Robey opened up about the months leading up to her jetting of to South Africa in a bid to find love.

She opened up on how her parents weren't thrilled with the decision at first as they feared that it won't be the right move for her, however, then they got on board and were very supportive.

She told WalesOnline: "I kind of went in not expecting anything when I came out. They cut the social media as well this year, so the social media following is a lot less than what it would have been if I’d have been on the summer series.

"The process started for me at the end of November and then I flew out in January so it was really, really quick. To be honest with you, I didn't really want to tell anyone about it.

"At the beginning, my parents were a bit like, ‘Oh God, I don't know if this is the right thing for you to do,’ but when I started getting to the next stage, and the next stage, and the processes started getting really exciting, they became more excited than I was!"

Tom returns to the field

Islander Tom Clare have returned to his day job now that his Love Island adventure is over.

The forward returned to training with Macclesfield FC as the Silkmen have another fixture today against Runcorn Linnets.

Joining back in 2021, Tom became a fan-favourite and now is attracting even more audiences to the club since he's became popular with Love Island viewers.

Macclesfield confirmed that over 3,500 tickets have been sold for the match.

Love Island remove 'split and steal'

Fans noticed how during the series finale, Kai and Sanam weren't asked to choose an envelope - one that's empty and one with the £50,000 prize.

The winners usually choose an envelope, and the one that finds the cash prize is asked whether they want to keep the money for themsevles or split it with their partner.

However, last year Laura Whitmore decided to not make Ekin-Su and Davide "choose between love and money," and Maya Jama did the same this year when Kai and Sanam were crowned winners.

The change comes after last year, a source told The Sun: "The decision to split or keep the money has gone, so when the couple wins they will automatically share the prize money.

“This has been a series with a number of format changes, including the viewers’ choice in the first recoupling, just to keep the show feeling fresh.”

When the segment was previously held, no couple ever chose to steal the money in Love Island history.

Jessie is moving to the UK!

Will Young told the MailOnline that his Aussie girlfriend Jessie Wynter will be moving from the Down Under to the UK and live with him on the farm.

He said: "Jessie is moving to the farm for the next month or two and she will be doing lambing and all of that, which I’m super, super excited about.

"When she visited for the first time this week, I gave her some wellies and she was getting really stuck in and feeding the animals, it made me fall in love with her even more.”

Kai and Sanam to appear on BBC Asian Network breakfast show

The Love Island winners are set to meet up with Nikita Kanda on Monday, March 20, during the BBC Asian Network's breakfast show and speak about their experiences in the villa.

The two won the public's heart piling up 44% of the votes and taking home the £50,000 cash prize.

How to apply for summer Love Island 2023

The search for love Island contenstants is on and this is your chance to apply and get a rtip to Majorca  in a bid to find love.

The ITV2 show launched an officical website  through which those interested can apply.

The website reads: "ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of love!

"The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.

Who's the most followed islander from this year's series?

Love Island fans named Jessi Wynter as the ''real winner'' of the winter 2023 series after even though she didn't make it into the final, she came out as the most followed islander.

Her boyfriend farmer Will follows her in being the second most-followed and it came as a surprise after they were voted "least compatible" by their fellow islanders, voted least favourite by the public and were dumped from the villa a night before the final.

Jessie entered the villa with 300k followers and left it with 712k while Will so far has rounded up 501k followers.

Winners Kai and Sanam who have 283K and 294K followers respectively when compared.

Claudia opens up on body image struggle

Bombshell Claudia lost almost three stone in recent year, however, as she opened up on body image struggle she admitted the sometime she still can't come to terms with her appearance.

Speaking on former islander Scott Thomas' podcast, Learning As I go, she said: "I feel like I've never ever been a confident person. Everyone sees me as this funny, happy, bubbly ball of energy. I'll never show how I'm actually feeling and sometimes I'm feeling very insecure.

"I looked in the mirror and thought, 'What are you doing?' I was a lot heavier and I didn't feel good in myself. I just let myself go. People are always like, 'I never knew you were bigger'. But in pictures I would always hide, I'd stand in the middle and had a way of being in a picture and editing them.

"I didn't want people to see how big I actually was. It wasn't until I took a picture with no clothes on and literally saw the raw picture of me, that I was like, 'Oh my God'.

"I said, 'I'm sick of feeling bloated and fat'. I'm not saying I was fat, because people will look at the pictures and that I'm not and I was just very curvy, but it was more for my health.

"I started crying, she (her personal trainer) started crying and even my mum started crying. That day I started my own journey. It's been three years now.

"It's hard for me just to be one weight. It's constant but it's a lifestyle change. It's a hard thing and don't think I'll ever come to terms with it. It's a battle."

Fans stunned with the Comic Relief sketch

Love Island returned for one more episode on the BBC on Red Nose Day to raise money for Comic Relief.

After somehow getting through his date and even got the girl's name wrong, bombshell chabuddy decided to recouple, which led to Maya Jama disqualifying the leopard-print wearing pretend contestant.

He also got to spend a night in the hideaway and fans were flocked to Twitter to comment on how good the sketh was with one saying: "This Love Island sketch is amazing!!!! So funny! Love him."

Love Island‘s Olivia Hawkins has sparked rumours that she has split from Mazwell after spending a night out in London without him.

Olivia looked stunning in a black dress for the Marlowe premiere this week.

Her date for the evening was former Islander Coco Lodge, who looked ravishing in red.

But her Love Island boyfriend Maxwell, was nowhere to be seen, just a week after leaving the villa.

It comes after the finance student headed to Radio 1s Big Weekend launch party on Wednesday night without Olivia.

Meanwhile, Olivia had a busy day at Capital Xtra FM and later attended a football match at the same time Maxwell was out.
