Dutch Royal Begins Bachelor of Science and Engineering.

Princess Alexia, the second daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, has embarked on a new academic adventure at University College London (UCL). The 19-year-old princess has enrolled in the prestigious university's Bachelor of Science and Engineering for Social Change program.

The Dutch royal household shared a heartwarming photo of Princess Alexia on Instagram, capturing her excitement as she began her studies in London. The image showed the princess beaming outside the university building, dressed in a stylish suede waistcoat and cream trousers. Her auburn hair was styled for the occasion, and she opted for a natural makeup look.

Princess Alexia's decision to pursue her studies at UCL came after a gap year, during which she explored various interests and gained valuable life experiences. Initially, she had considered studying at the University of Groningen but ultimately chose UCL to pursue her passion for social change.

The Bachelor of Science and Engineering for Social Change program at UCL is a three-year degree designed to equip students with the skills needed to address pressing societal challenges. The course includes a placement or project module in its third year, providing students with practical experience in the field.

Princess Alexia's decision to study in London is not entirely new. She previously spent two years at UWC Atlantic College in South Wales, graduating in May 2023. The prestigious school, often referred to as "Hippie Hogwarts," is known for its progressive approach to education and its diverse student body.

During her gap year, Princess Alexia also made her first official solo public appearance at the naming ceremony of the VOX Alexia in Rotterdam. Additionally, she joined her family on the balcony for the opening day of Dutch parliament, where she debuted her royal order for the first time.

The Princess's journey to UCL follows in the footsteps of her elder sister, Princess Amalia, who is studying psychology, law, and economics at the University of Amsterdam. However, Amalia faced security threats that forced her to temporarily relocate to Madrid during her studies.

Princess Alexia's decision to attend UCL is a testament to her determination and ambition. As she embarks on this new chapter in her life, she joins a long list of notable alumni who have gone on to achieve great success in various fields.
