Real Housewives of NYC Return in Season 15 Promo: Coming Soon
The Real Housewives of New York City: Season 15 Promo Drops, Premieres This Fall.
On Sunday, Bravo unveiled the highly anticipated first promo for the 15th season of "The Real Housewives of New York City," set to premiere this fall. The commercial, featuring Universal Production Music’s 2023 track "We Them Girls," offers a tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming season, showcasing all seven cast members in glamorous and provocative poses with a red apple—a symbol of New York's iconic Big Apple.
The promo, marked by the bold announcement, “They’re back. Coming soon,” introduces viewers to new dynamics and personalities, starting with Racquel Chevremont. Racquel, a 53-year-old model and art curator from the Bronx, joins the cast full-time after Lizzy Savetsky's departure mid-season 14 due to anti-Semitic hate. Chevremont, known for her advocacy and visibility as a later-in-life lesbian, expressed her hope that her presence on the show will foster understanding and change.
In an interview with GLAAD in June, Chevremont shared, “When I first came out, I lost a lot of people. I hope that seeing me and my family and being able to relate to us, regardless of your sexual orientation, will perhaps change a couple of hearts and minds. Using whatever platform I might have to increase visibility and representation has always been important to me... It’s extremely important to me, because this show reaches millions of people.”
The new season will also continue to feature Jenna Lyons, a successful queer woman who has been part of the cast. Lyons, the 56-year-old CEO of LoveSeen, had her own journey to public visibility when the New York Post threatened to out her in 2011.
The promo also highlights other key cast members, each adding their unique flair to the show. Ubah Hassan, a 40-year-old model and CEO of Ubah Hot sauce, appears topless beneath a black blazer. Brynn Whitfield, the only single cast member, dazzles in a silver sparkly bustier. The 38-year-old marketing consultant promised fans a thrilling season, saying, “Buckle up, buttercup. Coming soon.”
Jessel Taank, founder of the Indian retail platform ŌUSHQ, sports black leather gloves and a matching crop-top. Sai De Silva, the Brooklyn-born founder of lifestyle blog Scout the City, is seen in an asymmetric top with a perky ponytail. Erin Lichy, a 37-year-old Douglas Elliman realtor and interior design firm owner, wears a black dotted halter top while holding her apple. Lichy teased fans on July 23 with a behind-the-scenes photo captioned, “Back in the game!”
Rebecca Minkoff, a designer who joined as a 'friend' of the season, will also be featured in the upcoming season. Minkoff was announced as part of the rebooted cast in April.
Executive producer Andy Cohen spoke about the network’s commitment to diversity in a THR cover story in May. Cohen reflected on Bravo's efforts to enhance representation across its programming, noting, “George Floyd was an important cultural shift that forced us to look at all of our programming. Bravo made it a mandate to diversify its shows.”
This initiative aligns with Bravo’s broader goal of reflecting diverse demographics in its reality shows. Cohen highlighted how past shows like “Summer House” and “Southern Charm” lacked diversity, prompting the network to address these gaps.
The previous season of "The Real Housewives of New York City" drew significant viewership, with the premiere episode of season 14 amassing 1.7 million viewers, a 29% increase from season 13, according to TheWrap.
The show originally titled "Manhattan Moms" was a spin-off from "The Real Housewives of Orange County." The inaugural cast in 2009 was paid around $7,000 per episode.
In related news, Deadline reported last Friday that Bravo is developing a spin-off series centered on RHONY alum Dorinda Medley. The new show will focus on her Blue Stone Manor estate, promising to delve deeper into Medley's life and her iconic home.
As the countdown to season 15 continues, fans can expect more drama, excitement, and unforgettable moments from "The Real Housewives of New York City." The new season promises to be as riveting and dynamic as ever, with a fresh cast and renewed energy.
