Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 Trailer Unveils Explosive Drama and New Cast Additions
Published 2 years ago on Sep 29, 2023

PEOPLE has an exclusive First Look at the trailer, giving viewers a glimpse into what to expect from the upcoming season.

The trailer takes a creative twist, framing the reality show as a '90s sitcom titled "Potomac Proper," setting the stage for a season filled with laughter, tears, and intense drama.

Returning to the cast are familiar faces including Ashley Darby, Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Wendy Osefo, and Mia Thornton. However, there's a new addition to the Housewives lineup - Nneka Ihim, a successful lawyer and first-generation Nigerian-American married to a surgeon.

Nneka doesn't hold back as she humorously remarks in the trailer, "Thanks for buying me a $2 million house. My daddy's a rich b****, and he made sure his daughter's a rich b**** too!" Her presence sparks intrigue, with Gizelle playfully dubbing her "the new Grand Dame." However, reigning "Grand Dame" Karen isn't ready to relinquish her title, teasing, "If only it were that simple."

The trailer offers a taste of the explosive drama and witty banter that fans have come to love from the show. Tensions flare between Karen and Mia, with sharp exchanges suggesting a rocky relationship. Meanwhile, Wendy and Nneka engage in a spirited clash involving allegations of "voodoo."

As if that weren't enough, the trailer hints at fiery confrontations between cast members. A fire breaks out during one scene, prompting Candiace to quip, "This is the demons coming to get us."

The ongoing lawsuit between Candiace and Ashley's estranged husband, Michael Darby, adds another layer of tension to the season. The two women engage in a heated exchange, underscoring the simmering disputes within the group.

Robyn Dixon faces her own challenges as she grapples with revelations about her husband, Juan Dixon, allegedly messaging another woman before their wedding. The fallout from this revelation threatens her friendships, including her bond with Gizelle.

Amidst the drama, the trailer also teases personal revelations, such as Mia's candid admission that she "might" have married her husband Gordon for financial security and her past consideration of consulting a divorce attorney.

As the season unfolds, viewers can expect to see the Housewives navigating a variety of personal and professional challenges. Bravo has provided official descriptions of what's in store for each Housewife:

Gizelle Bryant enters a "situation-ship" with Jason Cameron and prepares for her eldest daughter's departure for college.

Robyn Dixon grapples with the fallout of Juan's alleged cheating, leading her friends to question her happiness.

Karen Huger celebrates her 60th birthday while facing a health scare and embarking on a legacy project.

Candiace Dillard-Bassett juggles her music career, financial stress, and ongoing disputes within the group.

Ashley Darby contemplates life as a single mother amidst rumors of divorce.

Wendy Osefo takes on a new project combining politics, mental health, and gossip, but faces tensions within the group.

Mia Thornton and her husband, Gordon, navigate challenges in their relationship and seek therapy.

Nneka Ihim, a first-generation Nigerian-American, joins the cast and adds to the mix of drama and intrigue.
