Taylor Swift Dominates Billboard Music Award Nominations

Taylor Swift Dominates Billboard Music Award Nominations
Published 12 months ago on Oct 27, 2023

The 33-year-old artist has earned recognition in an array of categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and many more at the data-driven awards extravaganza.

Taylor Swift has scored an impressive 20 nominations at this year's Billboard Music Awards, making her the most-nominated artist at the upcoming ceremony

This impressive feat further solidifies Taylor Swift's status as one of the most successful and celebrated artists in contemporary music. With 29 Billboard Music Award wins already under her belt, she holds the record for the most victories by a female artist in the history of the show.

What makes this year even more remarkable for Swift is her potential to make history once again by surpassing Drake's record for the most awards earned in a single night at the Billboard Music Awards. The rapper achieved the incredible feat by winning 13 awards in 2017.

SZA and Morgan Wallen follow Swift close behind for the second-most nominated artists at the show; they both have earned 17 nominations

These nominations are the latest in a series of triumphs for Taylor Swift in a banner year for her. She's been in the headlines not only for her music but also for her new romance with football icon Travis Kelce. Alongside her personal life, she embarked on her wildly successful Eras tour and released a captivating film capturing the essence of her live concerts.

While Taylor Swift leads the nominations, other remarkable artists are not far behind. SZA and Morgan Wallen both earned 17 nominations, showcasing their remarkable influence on the music industry. The Weeknd secured 16 nominations, while Drake and Zach Bryan follow closely with 14 nods. Luke Combs, 21 Savage, Metro Boomin, and Miley Cyrus also earned impressive recognition with 10 and 9 nominations, respectively.

Hit-makers! The Weeknd comes in third with 16 nominations while Drake and Zach Bryan follow with 14 nods

The list of nominees includes many more talented artists such as Beyoncé, Rema, Bad Bunny, and Peso Pluma, who are all vying for awards in various categories. Ariana Grande, David Guetta, Eslabon Armado, KAROL G, NewJeans, and Selena Gomez have all secured five nominations, demonstrating their significant contributions to the music industry.

Notably, the Billboard Music Awards stand out as they base their winners on performance metrics on the year-end Billboard charts, rather than a select panel of judges. The eligibility dates for this year's awards align with Billboard's year-end charts tracking period, which measures music consumption from November 19, 2022, through October 21, 2023.

Going for the gold! Beyonce has scored seven nominations

This year, viewers will have a fresh way to enjoy the show, with the option to tune in via the BBMA and Billboard social media platforms, as well as the website BBMAs.watch, marking a departure from traditional television broadcasts.

Scheduled for November 19, this year's show promises exciting musical performances and much-anticipated award reveals, beginning November 6.

Music sensation: Bad Bunny is up for six awards at the Billboard Music Awards

Moreover, the 2023 Billboard Music Awards introduce nine new award categories, including Top Global K-pop Artist, Top K-pop Tour, Top K-pop Album, Top Global K-pop Song, Top Afrobeats Artist, Top Afrobeats Song, and Top Rock Duo/Group. New categories for Top Hot 100 Songwriter and Top Hot 100 Producer further enhance the event's diversity.

The legendary Whitney Houston receives recognition with a nomination for Top Gospel Album for "I Go to the Rock: The Gospel Music of Whitney Houston."

Sing it! Luke Combs has earned 10 nominations

Taylor Swift's incredible year continues, filled with personal and professional achievements. From her headline-making romance with Travis Kelce to her successful Eras tour and subsequent concert film, she continues to be a dominant figure in the entertainment industry.

Shake it! Professionally, she is at the top of her game with her Eras tour and subsequent concert film

Taylor Swift's Eras tour, which kicked off earlier this year, has been a resounding success, captivating audiences across the United States. The international leg of her tour is set to commence next month.

Additionally, "The Eras Tour" movie, a documentary-style film about her tour, was released recently and enjoyed an impressive opening weekend, grossing between $95 and $97 million at the domestic box office.

What a catch! The nominations are just the latest cherry on top of Swift's banner year, which has seen her strike up a new romance with football icon Travis Kelce
