xQc Lands Incredible $100 Million Streaming Deal with Kick

xQc Lands Incredible $100 Million Streaming Deal with Kick
Published 1 years ago on Jun 17, 2023

According to a report by The New York Times, the agreement is valued at $70 million over two years, with additional incentives that could potentially push the total value to an astounding $100 million.

Expressing his enthusiasm, xQc stated, "Kick is providing me with the opportunity to explore new avenues that were previously inaccessible. I am incredibly excited to seize this chance and leverage it to create fresh and innovative content in the years to come."

Ryan Morrison, xQc's agent, hailed the contract with Kick as one of the top 25 talent deals in history, including those in the sports industry, marking it as a monumental achievement for the streaming community.

What sets this deal apart is its non-exclusivity. Despite the partnership with Kick, xQc will continue to stream on other platforms, including his established presence on Twitch, albeit with some adjustments in terms of content distribution.

While Kick may have a smaller audience compared to Twitch, its superior revenue-sharing model contributes to its appeal. Twitch typically takes a 50% cut from streamers, although it recently implemented a reduced rate of 30% for select creators under certain conditions. In contrast, Kick only deducts 5% from streamer earnings. Moreover, Kick offers more flexibility when it comes to certain content categories, with a dedicated section devoted to gambling streams.

This alignment with gambling content seems fitting for xQc, who has shown a well-known affinity for such activities. In May 2022, he candidly admitted losing around $2 million on ill-fated bets in a single month. Despite this, he expressed his unwavering dedication to gambling, stating, "I love gambling. I like to gamble, so I'm just going to gamble. End of story."

While some skepticism has been raised about Kick, including former Twitch director Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham labeling it as "a sham" in December 2022, the platform appears committed to expanding its reach to a broader audience. Admittedly, the success of such endeavors is not guaranteed, as demonstrated by Mixer's reported $50 million investment to lure Ninja from Twitch, only to close its doors less than a year later, despite the backing of Microsoft.

Nevertheless, xQc's presence on Kick has already gained significant attention. Within just over an hour of the announcement, his verified channel on the platform has amassed over 50,000 followers, indicating the immense excitement surrounding this monumental streaming deal.
