Published 5 months ago on Dec 17, 2024

Amanda Holden captivated audiences with her dazzling appearance at the 2024 Royal Variety Performance, showcasing a series of stunning gowns, including a show-stopping pale blue satin number. The 53-year-old Heart FM presenter co-hosted the prestigious event alongside Alan Carr, delivering a mix of glamour and humor – though not everyone was impressed.

Holden, known for her daring fashion choices, made four costume changes throughout the evening, culminating in a mesmerizing levitation act alongside magician Stephen Mulhern. While the visual spectacle undoubtedly entertained, the reception to the new hosting duo was mixed.

"Woke Jokes" and Backlash:

Carr kicked off the show at the Royal Albert Hall, filmed in November, with a series of "woke jokes," some of which were met with criticism. His opening remarks, including a playful jab at Holden's revealing gown, drew comparisons to the show's previous presenter, Bradley Walsh, with many viewers expressing their preference for the veteran entertainer.

Social media buzzed with comments ranging from "dreadful" and "awkward" to praise for Holden's captivating presence.

A Fashionable Spectacle:

Holden's wardrobe choices were a highlight of the evening. Her initial look, a metallic strapless gown with a winged neckline from Khaled and Marwin couture, reportedly retailed for over £3,000. The star had initially considered a more daring Julien Macdonald dress with a plunging neckline and backless design, but ultimately opted for a slightly more conservative (though still glamorous) option.
