The shocking incident took place when 23-year-old Vladimir Popov was attacked and consumed by a tiger shark off the coast of a beach in Hurghada, Egypt. In response to the tragic incident, the predator was subsequently killed in an act of revenge.

Specialists from the Institute of Marine Sciences and the Red Sea Reserves in Hurghada have now commenced the embalming process of the shark, with the goal of displaying it in the museum of the institute, as per Arabic news channel Al Arabiya. Sources have revealed that the victim's head, chest, and arms were successfully extracted from the shark's stomach, while the remaining half of the body was recovered from the sea by local fishermen.

Videos circulating online depict the shark's body being worked on by specialists, who can be seen making incisions and examining the skin. Notably, the shark had almost entirely consumed the victim's body, but upon noticing the approach of the fishermen's boat, it fled, leaving the lower half of the body in the water. The fishermen managed to retrieve the lower part before pursuing and capturing the shark.

Dr. Mahmoud Dar, a professor at the Egyptian National Institute of Marine Sciences, disclosed that the shark was female and that no additional findings were made, according to Al Arabiya. The Egyptian authorities have handed over the shark for further research to investigate its behavior and determine if it is connected to previous incidents of shark-related accidents.

The incident unfolded as witnesses observed Mr. Popov being encircled by the tiger shark, which locals described as a "meat grinder." Despite his desperate cries for help, he was dragged underwater, leaving onlookers horrified. His distraught father, Yury, expressed his anguish at witnessing the tragic event and lamented the lack of assistance available at the time.

While shark attacks are relatively rare in the area, the incident has raised concerns about the safety of beachgoers. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack and ensuring necessary precautions are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As the story continues to unfold, the family and friends of Vladimir Popov mourn the loss of a young life full of potential. The decision to mummify the shark serves as a solemn reminder of the tragic event and highlights the need for increased awareness and measures to safeguard beachgoers along the Egyptian coastline.
