Love Island 2023 News — Ron and Lana shrug off split rumours after they’re spotted in a ‘furious row’ ahead of Reunion
Published 2 years ago on Mar 18, 2023

It comes after The Sun revealed that the couple clashed  on the fight flight back hoe from south Africa as an onlooker said: ''Lana and Ron had a furious argument on the plane home - production crew had to step in and calm it down.

"They were so fuming they refused to film the 'meeting the family' part of the reunion show at Heathrow until producers stepped in again. They were due to stay overnight in London together but after the fight they went back to their family homes separately to cool down."

However, they seemed to have worked their way through the argument after last night they shared a snap of them cuddled up on the couch watching Season 4 of Netflix series You with a caption: "We've waited so long for this, movie and cuddles @lanajenkinss."

The two will reunite with the other contestants on the Reunion tomorrow as it's set to air live at 9pm on ITV2 with Maya Jama hosting.

What happened to Greg O'Shea and Amber Gill?

Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea took home the trophy for being the shortest-lasting Love Island winners, splitting just one month after leaving the show.

She claimed the rugby player dumped her by text after they struggled to make it work due to him living in Dublin and her in London.

Speaking about their struggles, Amber told Loose Women: “I just was like, 'Oh, I'm going to have to give up if you don't put the effort in', and then he was like, 'Okay, bye’.”

Rugby player Greg denied the split happened over text, claiming they rowed over FaceTime before he left for training and when he returned his “phone was blowing up”.

“An article was released, 'Greg breaks up with Amber over text' – I couldn't believe it,” he told The Laughs Of Your Life podcast.

He suggested Amber wanted him to “fight for it” but said he “had to be realistic and looked at it as a proper relationship and not the Love Island winners”.

Greg claimed he received death threats over the split, despite being sceptical about a ‘real’ relationship early on.

“When she posed the question to me being like, ‘You’re obviously gonna ask me to be your girlfriend, are you?’ I was like, ‘But sure how is this gonna work?'” he recalled.

Short relationships after the show

Many questioned whether Belle Hassan and Anton Danyluk's relationship was more “showmance” than romance.

It followed her dad, the actor Tamer Hassan, revealing her motivations on The Steven Sulley Study podcast last year, after wrongly believing it was to “make her boyfriend jealous”.

She allegedly told him: "I want 150,000 followers, I want a platform. I want five salons, I want to create my own make-up range and I want to float it and sell it to L’Oréal for £100million."

On AfterSun, Belle boldly admitted she was “there for a free holiday” and when producers told her “we are filming, you’ve got to do something”, she responded: “I’m just here for the tan.”

Unsurprisingly the couple lasted just five weeks in the real world. They reportedly split when the make-up artist grew tired of Anton's wild partying in Ibiza.

Kai and Sanam were shocked by Love Island win

The Love Island winner were shocked by their win after they told the Daily Mail that because they were so different to the other islanders they didn't expect to get the public's votes.

Kai said: "We are quite boring, really. We never got involved in all the stuff you think Love Island people have to do — the rows and the controversy. Because of that, we never expected to win. We were shocked when it seemed people liked us."

It seems like the perfect match as a school teacher and a social worker won Love Island, and Kai spoke on his passion for the work he does.

He said: "The people I ultimately want to work with — kids — watch 'Love Island'. You can have whatever view you like of shows like 'Love Island', but believe me — and I've seen it in classrooms — the kids watch it, and the people on Love Island are their role models.

"One of the common conversations I'd have with these kids — who are all on TikTok and social media — is about who they are being influenced by.

"A lot of the kids I have taught come from broken homes, and I know it was the same with Sanam. A lot of them will never see a positive relationship. If they can look at us and go 'yeah, it is achievable' then that's a positive thing.

"I guess people voted for us because we were real. We plan to stay that way."

Sanam added: "I am meeting my former manager on Thursday to chat about how I can continue to help them. And this will give me a platform that I just wouldn't have had before."

Who is expected to appear at the Love Island 2023 reunion?

Maya Jama will be back to reunite the Islanders one last time to break down all the ins and outs of their villa antics.

Every Islander from the 203 series is expected to attend – which may see some reuniting with those they'd rather not see.

One of the most obvious contention points is Casa Amor, which saw numerous recoupling's and one hell of a fallout in the aftermath for, Shaq Muhamed and Tanya Manhenga in particular as she chose to recouple while Shaq remained faithful.

Welsh contestant Anna-May Robey opened up about the months leading up to her jetting of to South Africa in a bid to find love.

She opened up on how her parents weren't thrilled with the decision at first as they feared that it won't be the right move for her, however, then they got on board and were very supportive.

She told WalesOnline: "I kind of went in not expecting anything when I came out. They cut the social media as well this year, so the social media following is a lot less than what it would have been if I’d have been on the summer series.

"The process started for me at the end of November and then I flew out in January so it was really, really quick. To be honest with you, I didn't really want to tell anyone about it.

"At the beginning, my parents were a bit like, ‘Oh God, I don't know if this is the right thing for you to do,’ but when I started getting to the next stage, and the next stage, and the processes started getting really exciting, they became more excited than I was!"
