Tristan Thompson's Child's Mother Seeks $224,000

Tristan Thompson's Child's Mother Seeks $224,000
Published 2 years ago on Oct 23, 2023

This revelation comes after Craig accused the father-of-four of failing to meet his monthly child support obligations.

Tristan Thompson is accused of being behind $224,000 in child support payments for his first child, Prince. He is pictured holding True, his daughter with Khloe Kardashian in June 2022

Court documents filed last month unveil the contentious child support battle between Craig and Thompson, who had been providing $40,000 each month since April 2019 as part of a previous child support settlement. However, it has come to light that Thompson began missing payments or only providing partial sums since November 2022. Payment records disclosed in the filing show a pattern of irregular payments, with only half the required amount paid in November, full payment in December, and no payment in January. Subsequent months saw inconsistent payments, with the highest sum reaching $29,000 in August.

In court filings obtained by DailyMail.com, Craig claims Thompson has only made partial payments - or missed payments - for six-year-old Prince's child support since November 2022

To rectify the situation, Craig is petitioning the court to withhold income from Thompson's stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team where he made his NBA debut in 2011. Thompson rejoined the Cavaliers earlier this year after reportedly signing a $2.7 million annual contract, a significant reduction from the $17.7 million he earned when the initial child support agreement was established.

Craig is seeking a monthly withholding order of $80,000 from Thompson's earnings, which she believes is less than half of his current monthly salary. In her court filing, she expresses her conviction that Thompson is receiving a "veteran's minimum" contract with the Cavaliers, contributing to the requested garnishment.

Craig is demanding an order to withhold his earnings in the amount of $80,000 a month, 'and to stay in effect until the arrears are satisfied', according to the filings

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Craig has refrained from speaking publicly about her ex-partner's alleged negligence regarding their child. However, Prince's aunt, Kai Cyre, recently voiced her discontent about Thompson's parenting on Instagram. Cyre criticized Thompson for his perceived lack of involvement, time, and financial support for Prince, comparing it to his involvement with his other children. She also took issue with Kim Kardashian's praise of Thompson as a parent on a recent episode of "The Kardashians."

The athlete, 32, was revealed to have been doling out $40,000 every month to his ex since April 2019 after the former couple had reached a child support settlement that year

In addition to the child support dispute, the social media post by Cyre followed Kim Kardashian's revelation of why she maintains a friendship with Thompson. Kim detailed his past relationship with her sister, Khloe, the multiple cheating allegations, and the subsequent breakup in June 2021.

Craig sought to re-enforce the monthly payments in an  'abstract of judgment' filed in Los Angeles in August

While Tristan Thompson's personal life continues to attract attention and controversy, the legal battle with his first baby mama highlights the financial and custodial challenges that can arise in high-profile relationships.

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim claimed Tristan had 'stepped up' for her as a single mother after her split from Kanye West
